It seems like an eternity now since the Year Of The Dragon Nike Basketball collection released in January/Early February to commemorate the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Dragon. What rumoured to be an AP or China Only release was squashed by the stateside release of the "Year Of The Dragon" Nike Zoom KD IV, as well as the "Year Of The Dragon" Air Jordan 2012 that came out less than 2 weeks ago. Now, we have words that the "Year Of The Dragon" Nike Kobe 7 System Supreme will also hit U.S soil and it will be March 17th, YES, Saint Patrick's Day. While everyone in the U.S. will be getting drunk and acting like idiots, those that are not 21 years old and/or from New York will be spending their St Patty day lined up in-front of stores or online to catch the last Dragon themed offering this year.

Air Jordan 2012 - Tinker Hatfield Quickstrike - March 15, 2012
Give props where props are due, Tinker Hatfield was not the main designer for this project with the Air Jordan 2012. Heck Tinker was an adviser at best with the current game shoe, but I gotta hand it to the the brand, they know how to make a guy feel super special. This Air Jordan 2012 "Tinker Hatfield" edition is not flashy, it's not colorful, it's not something the hypebeast would go after. But the material and detailing are superb and the whole theme behind the old school jazz musician from back in the day makes this wingtip looking shoe a classic.
Design your own Converse 'GLOW IN THE DARK' kicks
I guess it won't be long now before Converse's parent company, the swoosh will have their GLOW IN THE DARK option for NikeID.
Nike Zoom KD IV - Texas Longhorn
And yet ANOTHER colorway for the newly popular Nike Zoom KD IV. This time around, it is the House Of Hoops ONLY release for KD's Alma Mater, the U of Texas "Longhorn". The colorways that all KD fans love with the longhorn logo on the tongue. MUST HAVE for many, BIG PASS for me. Images via Kicks-Crew

Nike Zoom KD IV - Spring 2012 colors
Remember before December 2011, yeah just three short months ago when nobody lined up to buy @KDTrey5's shoes, remember that? Remember the Zoom KD 3 in the super bright yellow X-Mas colors that sat at stores after the Kobe's & Bron's were sold out within minutes? Well those days are long gone, thanks to the creative geniuses at Nike. It's quite simple really, knowing that KD is due for a breakout year and that there is a niche for his kicks, studying simple economic trends, still able to increase the price to the $95 price point and the LIMITED tag, crazy theme & colors = HYPEBEAST wetting their pants. adidas adiZero Rose 2.5 - Lei Feng edition
Everything CHINA is big these days. The fact that it's the year of the dragon makes it even more crazy. Nike already took that Chinese Zodiac theme, so that is off limit from other shoe company. Thus, adidas basketball has to get creative and they came up with the inspiration behind this shoe, the Chinese Army Soldier, Lei Feng.
The campaign, 'Learn from Comrade Lei Feng" by the late Chairman Mao was a popular one among the Chinese, it kinda brainwashed them to be loyal to their country, do the upright things to defend it and sacrifice your individual needs for the better of your country.
As China gets ready to commemorate Lei Feng on March 5th, adidas Basketball is actually one step ahead with the release. These are available in limited fashion starting today, March 1st, 2012. Images via City Sole
Nike Zoom Kobe VII Elite - The "$200" Kobe
Now that the All-Star madness is finally behind us, it's time to look forward to upcoming releases for the SPRING & SUMMER 2012. One of the most anticipated release would be these Nike Zoom Kobe VII "Elite" why so? well it's because of the price tag. Yupe, it is pure Jordanesque at $200!!! Why the hefty pricetag? Well Nike as a company is trying to hot that BILLION dollar marks by 2014, so price hikes is inevitable, and they supposedly featured a more durable upper as well as FULL LENGHT ZOOM AIR. Anyways, coming out in April 20, just in time for the NBA playoffs.
