Nike LeBron X "Prism" for New Year's eve

It seems that Nike Basketball colorist are scaling back and toning down on the color offerings for their signature shoe lineup. Unlike years past offerings of bright loud colors that covers the upper of the shoe, the base of the shoe are kept in simpler color(s) but hints of what made the shoe ultra popular are now offered as secondary colors for the insole, laces and tongue logo. Nicknamed the "Prism" for the mixture of colors created by a diamond when hits by light, it is showcased on the midsole. Look for these before you head out on New Year's eve for a cool $180 at your local Nike Basketball retailers.

Nike KD V - New Year's eve "Splatter" release

Less than a week after a successful Christmas release of the 'Video Game' KD V, Nike Basketball is set to release a more toned down colorway of the Nike KD V with grey upper and purple outsole. Although the base of the sneakers plain grey, the swoosh, the laces and inner linings are anything but. I am sure lots will be clamoring over these release to bring in the new year in. Look for these at fine sneaker retailers on December 31, 2012. Images via Sneakerbistro

Nike Basketball unwraps Christmas Day colorways of Kobe Bryant’s, Kevin Durant’s and LeBron James’s signature shoes.

It's the most wonderful time of the year to spend...spend...spend...those Christmas cash on Nike Basketball's LIMITED EDITION Christmas offerings. Not made by Santa's elves, but by Chinese factory workers and delivered by a guy who looks like Santa but works for FedEx, these special Christmas colorways are debuting on the feet of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant on Christmas day and if you don't have to work the next day, they too can be on your feet on December 26. So bring your mom, your cousins and your baby momma's mommas to the nearest Nike Basketball retailers and spend those Christmas cash on Nike Basketball's latest Christmas offerings.

KOBE 8 SYSTEM

In keeping with the snake-inspired design of Kobe Bryant’s latest signature shoe, the KOBE 8 SYSTEM draws inspiration from the rhinoceros viper. The perfect snake skin for a holiday colorway, its bright red and yellow scales mimic a Christmas tree garland – but don’t get too close.

Built for Bryant’s speed and precision, the KOBE 8 SYSTEM features a Nike Engineered Mesh upper, Lunarlon midsole and tactile traction.

LEBRON X

Furthering the diamond inspiration of the LEBRON X, the design team unearths the rarest of diamond colors, red, to serve as the creative muse for this colorway. Highlighted by a sun-washed green, the shoe also features a metallic-like reflection on the vibrant red upper.

Technical benefits of the LEBRON X include full-length visible Nike Zoom cushioning, dynamic Flywire technology and Hyperfuse construction.

KD V

As a kid, Kevin Durant recalls getting a video game system one Christmas. Inspired by video game graphics, Nike designers created the upper design, sockliner graphic and tongue tab logo for Durant’s special Christmas Day shoe.

The KD V, Durant’s most technically advanced shoe to date, features the combination of Nike Zoom (forefoot) and Nike Air (heel) cushioning along with Hyperfuse upper and dynamic heel support.

These three new colorful Christmas shoes will be available in limited quantities at select retail stores and Nike.com on December 26, 2012, and are sure to motivate basketball fans to be good this holiday season.

adidas Top Ten 2000 "Nightmare Before Christmas"

Kinda odd that a shoe that are already available on eastbay.com and certain mall stores in the United States, but not one clear pictures exist, so I had to resort to the next best thing. Pics taken by my Chinese-brethren, LOL! This adidas Top Ten 2000 is supposedly a part of the  “Nightmare Before Christmas” pack along with the Crazy Light 2 & the D Rose 3 these also feature a purple anodized upper with “Nigthtmare” themed detailing, black midsole and lining, as well as special striped laces. The glow-in-the-dark sole and branding are great addition to the theme, of course it wouldn't be complete with the date 12-24-12 on the back tongue and across the lacing system. These are again available on eastbay and some stores already have them available, but officially they won't hit until the Christmas eve.

NIKE & MEDICOM - Destroyer Jackets, BE@RBRICKs and Lunar Force 1s for AF1 30th birthday

Nike is really trying hard to get that piece of the pie from the hard to persuade Japanese audience. Nike Japan has been around for a while, Widen + Kennedy even has an office in Tokyo to handle all of Nike Japan's media advertising, and they've been very very creative in term of their TV & print ads. BUT, sales at Nike seems to not budge in that region. Nike stocks skyrocketed in China, Korea, Singapore, but not in Japan. So Nike, a self-proclaimed Japanese Company (I have a t-shirt to proof it) once again decided to do their collaboration work with Be@rbrick in hope that through art and limited edition offering that it finally will able to break that Japanese market that are driven by the high-end fashion instead of what Nike is offering, Chinese made, American product that comes complete with a story of winning at all cost.

Below if the official transcript via Nikeinc.com

With a creative partnership whose relationship dates back to 2002, Nike and MEDICOM TOY come together once again to release a new collection that brings iconic sport classics together with a legendary toy.

Releasing the Nike x BE@RBRICK Lunar Force 1 Collection on December 19, limited versions of the Nike Lunar Force 1, the Nike Destroyer Jacket, and  BE@RBRICKs will be rendered new as one collective ensemble.

For this release, two Lunar Force 1s echo earlier projects using modified silhouettes. One version parallels that inaugural collaboration from 2004, while the second carries the palette from last year's BE@RBRICK release. Both bear special branding on the tongue and insole.

The Nike Lunar Force 1 presents a legendary design remixed with the modern innovations of today. Updating the construction process with Nike’s seamless Hyperfuse technology applied to the upper along with Nike’s Lunarlon cushioning system anchored in the sole offers a lighter ride with unparalleled cushioning made for comfort.

The Nike Destroyer Jacket, with its traditional leather sleeves and wool shell, harkens back to a sort of nostalgia that invites a myriad of felt patches and embroideries.

Both shoes will be available in limited quantities at select global retailers on December 19. A matching set of special edition Nike x BE@RBRICK Destroyer Jackets will be released in Japan only on the same date. The jackets will feature Nike and BE@RBRICK branding gracing the sleeves.

To finish off the collection, a pair of matching special edition BE@RBRICK Lunar Force 1 100% and 400% toys will be simultaneously available in limited numbers worldwide to accompany this release.

About BE@RBRICK:

Since Japan's toy company MEDICOM TOY brand debuted in 1996 and the BE@RBRICK, a bear shaped block-style figure created from the concept of a digital-like teddy bear, made its first appearance in 2001, art, sport and fashion have been represented on a new canvas on what seems to be an innumerable amount of occasions.

When the Air Force 1 BE@RBRICK toy released ten years ago, the fanaticism of sneakers and toys merged. The first Nike x MEDICOM shoe followed — a Japan-exclusive SB Dunk in 2004. The latest collaboration celebrates a new chapter in sneaker innovation with the Lunar Force 1, once again pairing the creative worlds of toy and sportswear design.

adidas Basketball - D Rose 3 “Nightmare” before Christmas

Less than two weeks before the release, it's official!  The adidas D Rose 3 “Nightmare” with purple “vertigo” shimmer synthetic leather upper, supposedly tells the story of defender's nightmares when guarding D Rose, but it turned out to be the nightmare of the Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose himself, being he is still rehabbing that MCL injury and the Bulls are not even worth mentioning again. But the shoes is definitely awesome especially glow-in-the-dark outsole, speckled midsole, and zoned out wave pattern laces add a touch of nighttime. Stitched on the inside tongue is '12-24-12' referring to, of course, Christmas eve as well as the date of the release

The D Rose 3 “Nightmare” hits retail on December 24 for $180, and is available at adidas Basketball.
