Everything CHINA is big these days. The fact that it's the year of the dragon makes it even more crazy. Nike already took that Chinese Zodiac theme, so that is off limit from other shoe company. Thus, adidas basketball has to get creative and they came up with the inspiration behind this shoe, the Chinese Army Soldier, Lei Feng.
The campaign, 'Learn from Comrade Lei Feng" by the late Chairman Mao was a popular one among the Chinese, it kinda brainwashed them to be loyal to their country, do the upright things to defend it and sacrifice your individual needs for the better of your country.
As China gets ready to commemorate Lei Feng on March 5th, adidas Basketball is actually one step ahead with the release. These are available in limited fashion starting today, March 1st, 2012. Images via City Sole
