I remember when the first Nike Air Foamposite One shoe released, it came in after Penny had skyrocketed in the NBA and it didn't hurt that the University of Arizona Wildcats (Mike Bibby) rocked those to win the NCAA championship game. It was one of those shoe that is so iconic in terms of sports and it was so ahead of it's time that it didn't actually flew off shelves like it does now every time there is a release. Well to piggyback the current popularity of these foams (especially in the East Coast of the U.S) Nike keeps popping up with new colors and new stories behind it. This All-Star rendition will probably be on the feet of those in the Celebs & rookie games rather that the actual NBA All-Star game, but then again, you never know, I bet if Iggy (Andre Iguodala) is selected as a reserve, he'll rocked these bad boys. Look for the GALAXY/All-Star 2012 Foamposite One at select Nike Sportswear door on Feb 23rd, 2012 at $225.

Long time fans of the brand, the Gorillaz collection gives the classic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette an edge with four different looks inspired by the band. The military inspired camouflage print, taken from the cover of their self-titled debut, is the signature design for the collection. The lining of both designs have an exclusive print featuring a collage of images from their album artwork made specifically for this collaboration. In continuation with Converse’s dedication to the global music community, the design partnership with Gorillaz will include Converse’s latest installation of their signature “Three Artists. One Song” collaboration featuring Gorillaz, James Murphy and Andre 3000. “Three Artists. One Song” was created as an opportunity for three distinct artists to come together from different backgrounds to create an original new song. “Three Artists. One Song” has recently seen pop duo MATT & KIM, rapper and producer Soulja Boy and singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist ANDREW W.K, among others, come together to create an original song made available for fans for free. Nike Air Flight One - OG 'Orlando Magic' Home colorways
I remember saying to my dudes back in the day when the Orlando Magic traded for Penny Hardaway. "This guy is gonna be the NEXT Magic Johnson" and I collected all of his NBA rookie cards, bought his jersey and of course, had to get the shoes. Nike Air Flight One, the all black pair, yupe same pair that MJ wore, I mean MJ rocked a Nike shoe that's not his signature shoe? That's out of this world. Never had this particular Orlando Magic home colorway though, back then, I was lucky enough to get a pair for school AND basketball season. Anyways, I WILL be getting these and hopefully they won't be too difficult to attain.
Nike Air Flight One - All-Star 'Glow In The Dark' edition
Never a shortage with the Penny Hardway line at Nike. It seems that whatever they make out of that line, will have a loyal fan base behind it. They've remade his Foamposite One shoe over, and over, and over again. People still clamor over them over and over and over again. Now that the NBA All-Star is returning to Orlando, what better way than to commemorate it with Penny's first non-signature shoe. Also known the other shoes that MJ rocked outside of the Air Jordan line. Here we get the special make-up for the All-Star game festivities with the Glow-In-The-Dark gimmick. I can't believe that Nike Sportswear would do this to one of my fave, but whats not to love, they GLOW IN THE DARK!!! LOVE EM!!!!
SPACE EXPLORATION INSPIRES NEW NIKE SPORTSWEAR COLLECTION Ahead of basketball’s big weekend in Orlando, the collection features a galactic theme on the Nike Dunk, Nike Flight One and Nike Foamposite One.
Ahead of basketball’s big weekend in Orlando, Nike Sportswear is introducing a collection of styles inspired by central Florida’s association with space exploration. The collection features a galactic theme on the Nike Dunk, Nike Flight One and Nike Foamposite One. Interior graphics pay homage to the phenomenon of the Supernova – arguably the most powerful force in the universe – while fonts and badging are featured within the collection as a nod to Orlando and space.
With a motif inspired by astronaut space suits, the Nike Dunk features a waxed canvas upper emulating training suit material. Military stencil font is prominently featured on the upper and outsole, while the inner lining features the supernova graphic print. Available in three different colors including rogue green, flat gold and blue grey, the Nike Dunk also features a removable tongue top patch and Nike Swoosh.
With the weekend’s festivities returning to Orlando for the first time since 1992, Nike celebrates the legacy of arguably the most popular player in the history of pro basketball in Orlando. Made popular in the mid-90’s, the Nike Flight One makes a comeback in two colorways, with one featuring glow-in-the-dark details on the sole and midsole spheres.
The Nike Foamposite One, showcasing an out-of-this-world galactic print upper, includes a Polyurethane midsole and a Nike Zoom unit in heel for low-profile, responsive cushioning. Made popular in its debut on the college hardwood in 1998, the Foamposite breaks the mold of conventional footwear design.
The collection will be available at select retailers and NikeStore.com from February 23.
NIKE BASKETBALL INTRODUCES SPECIAL EDITIONS FOR ORLANDO Taking inspiration from space exploration, the collection features a galactic theme on the LeBron 9, Nike Zoom KD IV and Nike Zoom Kobe VII System.
Nike Basketball is proud to unveil key colorways celebrating its pinnacle players competing in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game in Orlando later this month. Taking inspiration from space exploration, the collection features a galactic theme on the LeBron 9, Nike Zoom KD IV and Nike Zoom Kobe VII System. Graphics pay homage to the supernova – arguably the most powerful force in the universe – while the outsoles glow in the dark and individual ‘mission patches’ adorn each shoe as a nod to the accolades astronauts receive.
LeBron 9 is the first Nike shoe to combine Flywire technology and Hyperfuse construction in the upper, a significant technical advancement in footwear. LeBron James, whose home state of Ohio features more astronauts than any other state, will wear a special version of the LeBron 9 that takes inspiration from the orange space suit. Orange, the most visible color to the human eye, helps identify astronauts. Functional graphics “Pull For Lockdown” are featured on the midfoot harness, while the materials are inspired by space suit textures. The midfoot harness wraps around the foot and incorporates Flywire for added strength and lock down support. LeBron’s mission patch, an honor astronauts receive from space exploration duties, is a lion shooting through space.
Nike Zoom KD IV incorporates the new Dynamic Fit system that provides a superior lock-down fit and lateral support. Kevin’s colorway is silver and takes inspiration from the silver suit of a notable Oklahoma astronaut, while his mission patch pays tribute to his reign as “H.O.R.S.E.” champion. The combination of Hyperfuse construction on the upper, Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot and low collar design is a superior lightweight design. The functional graphics “Pull For Lockdown” on the midfoot harness is a key graphic feature.
Nike Zoom Kobe VII System includes the Attack Fast insert that features a Phylon midsole with Nike Zoom units in the forefoot and heel for the ultimate in lightweight responsiveness. Its sock-like fit eliminates the need for a traditional tongue and innersleeve, keeping the shoe lightweight. The upper’s color features telescopic inspired imagery. Supernova is the primary graphic motif on the upper and ironically gives birth to stars. The mission patch on the heel is a mamba snake as a nod to Kobe.
All three editions will be available at select retailers and at NikeStore.com beginning February 25.
