Beams x Puma Faas 500 ‘Disc LTWD’ Collection
The PUMA Disc lacing system was all the hype back in the early 90's. My brother even bought a pair, it of course never got much wear since he outgrew them pretty quick. Over the years, with the strong sneaker culture followers and the success of many of Nike Retro of their Air Jordan line and many others, other sneaker company started to follow suite and PUMA brought the Disc system that was defunct back to for a new generation of kids. Of course PUMA is somewhat a pioneer themselves in the RETRO sneaker business, their line of PUMA Clyde sneakers remains popular over the years with the OGs, the newbies and the hipster doofus. Now we see a collaboration between PUMA and BEAMS to celebrate their 35th anniversary. The collaboration features the Disc System on a new silhouette, a far more advance silo with many other high-tech addition to it while maintaining the classic seamless upper for comfort and a BioRide insole that’s made from the same material as the DISC FAAS 500 shoe. The collection will hit BEAMS stores on October 8 for ¥16,800 JPY (approximately $220 USD).
