adidas Rose 3.5 'CHICAGO" edition

adidas Basketball might be on to something here, but if you live and know the CHI, then you probably have seen this colorway represent the Windy City in a shoe before, heck a Lebron signature shoe from two years past had this sort of colorway but brighter. But can't knock adidas for putting these together though, they are pretty sweet and especially with the added touch of 'Rooted In Chicago' on the inside tongue, and how great Derrick Rose is as a person and an NBA player, you can't go wrong with these for $160. It's unfortunate that #TheReturn might be postponed and DRose might never wear these on the NBA hardcourt, but they are something worth picking up as an alternative to all the crazy retro offerings that seems to be popping up from Nike on a weekly basis.

Nike & Undefeated rocks the house with 'Bring Back Pack'

For Undefeated, creating desirable footwear is standard operating procedure.

It all started in 2002 when the 5 strikes caught Nike’s eye, resulting in the first of many collaborative efforts between the two.

In an act of good faith, 48 pairs of white-on-white-on-gum Nike Dunks with the 5 strikes logo were gifted to the Undefeated crew, none of which were commercially sold and all of which have been virtually unobtainable since.

Eleven years later, February 2013 marks the release of this iconic Undefeated Dunk. The previously unreleased Dunk will return in all its tonal glory in the "Bring Back Pack" featuring premium leather uppers and the Undefeated 5 Strikes on the heel.

An identically colored Nike Hyperdunk is added to the mix. The understated colorway allows the Hyperdunk’s cutting-edge technology to do all the talking and demonstrate how innovation has redefined the sneaker aesthetic.

The Nike x Undefeated "Bring Back Pack" will be available globally starting Feb. 9.

Nike Ad suggest Kevin Durant is not nice to sell more shoes.

KD's style of play has evolve throughout the year and his versatility on the court does indicate that KD IS NOT NICE to his opponenets, but he is a super nice dude off the court. Now, why do Nike wants to sell KD off as a not so nice guy? Well think back a little when Nike had David Robinson doing those Nike commercial. Now The Admiral was a super nice guy, and as a big man, his shoes don't sell as well. But KD is a different breed of new NBA players all together. AND most importantly, his last shoe, the KD IV sold relatively well when they came out in LIMITED offerings. So to piggybacking on previous success, Nike & their ad company came out with this ad in hope to sell KD off to a nationwide audience that are not basketball fans to go to the local foot locker and BUY KD's latest shoe, KD V Ice Blue color, which launches globally February 6 online and February 7 in stores. Hey that's today!

Nike Sportswear - TOP-SECRET AREA 72 COLLECTION featuring RAYGUN

"Fictitious Area 72 is the creative muse behind Nike Sportswear’s 5-shoe collection celebrating basketball’s mid-season weekend in Houston."

In other words, Nike Sportswear is hyping up the 2013 NBA All Star festivities in Houston by launching over the top collection of shoes that nobody would buy if they don't make it glow in the dark.

Yupe, sounds about right.

Piggybacking on their wildly successful NASA oriented Nike offering for last year's NBA All Star in Orlando with the Galaxy Foams etc, Nike Sportswear is at it again, this time around the collection seems rather....how can I put this nicely, LAME! Seems like they targeting those hipster doofus instead of basketball aficionados, or maybe the times have changed that much that you can make it into some sort of a hybrid, like many of Nike Sportswear's offering. But maybe Nike knows something that we don't, they do have all these "influencers" under their payroll and maybe these are the popular kicks among the Chinese these days. All I know, I won't be caught wearing any of them.
