adidas Rose 3.5 'CHICAGO" edition

adidas Basketball might be on to something here, but if you live and know the CHI, then you probably have seen this colorway represent the Windy City in a shoe before, heck a Lebron signature shoe from two years past had this sort of colorway but brighter. But can't knock adidas for putting these together though, they are pretty sweet and especially with the added touch of 'Rooted In Chicago' on the inside tongue, and how great Derrick Rose is as a person and an NBA player, you can't go wrong with these for $160. It's unfortunate that #TheReturn might be postponed and DRose might never wear these on the NBA hardcourt, but they are something worth picking up as an alternative to all the crazy retro offerings that seems to be popping up from Nike on a weekly basis.

Nike & Undefeated rocks the house with 'Bring Back Pack'

For Undefeated, creating desirable footwear is standard operating procedure.

It all started in 2002 when the 5 strikes caught Nike’s eye, resulting in the first of many collaborative efforts between the two.

In an act of good faith, 48 pairs of white-on-white-on-gum Nike Dunks with the 5 strikes logo were gifted to the Undefeated crew, none of which were commercially sold and all of which have been virtually unobtainable since.

Eleven years later, February 2013 marks the release of this iconic Undefeated Dunk. The previously unreleased Dunk will return in all its tonal glory in the "Bring Back Pack" featuring premium leather uppers and the Undefeated 5 Strikes on the heel.

An identically colored Nike Hyperdunk is added to the mix. The understated colorway allows the Hyperdunk’s cutting-edge technology to do all the talking and demonstrate how innovation has redefined the sneaker aesthetic.

The Nike x Undefeated "Bring Back Pack" will be available globally starting Feb. 9.

Nike Ad suggest Kevin Durant is not nice to sell more shoes.

KD's style of play has evolve throughout the year and his versatility on the court does indicate that KD IS NOT NICE to his opponenets, but he is a super nice dude off the court. Now, why do Nike wants to sell KD off as a not so nice guy? Well think back a little when Nike had David Robinson doing those Nike commercial. Now The Admiral was a super nice guy, and as a big man, his shoes don't sell as well. But KD is a different breed of new NBA players all together. AND most importantly, his last shoe, the KD IV sold relatively well when they came out in LIMITED offerings. So to piggybacking on previous success, Nike & their ad company came out with this ad in hope to sell KD off to a nationwide audience that are not basketball fans to go to the local foot locker and BUY KD's latest shoe, KD V Ice Blue color, which launches globally February 6 online and February 7 in stores. Hey that's today!

Nike Sportswear - TOP-SECRET AREA 72 COLLECTION featuring RAYGUN

"Fictitious Area 72 is the creative muse behind Nike Sportswear’s 5-shoe collection celebrating basketball’s mid-season weekend in Houston."

In other words, Nike Sportswear is hyping up the 2013 NBA All Star festivities in Houston by launching over the top collection of shoes that nobody would buy if they don't make it glow in the dark.

Yupe, sounds about right.

Piggybacking on their wildly successful NASA oriented Nike offering for last year's NBA All Star in Orlando with the Galaxy Foams etc, Nike Sportswear is at it again, this time around the collection seems rather....how can I put this nicely, LAME! Seems like they targeting those hipster doofus instead of basketball aficionados, or maybe the times have changed that much that you can make it into some sort of a hybrid, like many of Nike Sportswear's offering. But maybe Nike knows something that we don't, they do have all these "influencers" under their payroll and maybe these are the popular kicks among the Chinese these days. All I know, I won't be caught wearing any of them.

Nike Basketball NBA All Star 2013 - Back to space mission in Houston

It's back to space for the 2013 Nike Basketball All-Star selections as Kobe, LeBron & KD once again headlines the marquee sneaker lineup, each with their own respected signature shoes and each will showcase EXTRATERRESTRIAL flavor without any of the slime and danger that comes along by playing with aliens.

LEBRON X

An indestructible force originating from fictional Nike Space Program (NSP) planet NSP-LJ6, LeBron James’ dominance was born from the volcanic surface in the planet’s mantle. He is rumored to have journeyed to earth on a meteor made of the galaxy's hardest substance – black diamonds.

Technical benefits of the LEBRON X shoe include full-length visible Nike Zoom cushioning, dynamic Flywire technology and Hyperfuse construction -- a trilogy set to unleash its fury in Houston.

KOBE 8 SYSTEM

Engineered to the specifications of Kobe Bryant’s Houston mission, with origins rooted on a planet marked as NSP-KB24. The Ice Mamba circles the volatile surface as guardian of the five rings. The wise veteran is known to strike with moves that leave his opponents frozen.

Built for Bryant’s lightning speed and precision, the KOBE 8 SYSTEM shoe is Nike+ Basketball enabled for the first time and this shoe also features Nike Zoom in the midsole insert. Nike Engineered Mesh upper and tactile traction complete the shoe.

KD V

Identified as Dark Matter, the biological and molecular breakdown of this figure remains a puzzle for scientists. Early readings of its origin, NSP-KD35, have sent back conflicting reports of a planet that is simultaneously solid, liquid, and gas – properties that make his game adaptable to any situation.

Joining with Bryant for their quest to lead the West to victory, this KD V shoe is designed to the specifications of Kevin Durant’s Houston mission. The KD V features the combination of Nike Zoom (forefoot) and Nike Air (heel) cushioning along with Hyperfuse upper and dynamic heel support.

New Balance officially the running shoe of choice of Walt Disney World and RunDisney

"When you wish upon a star...."

Someone at New Balance must've wished upon a pretty bright star to land Disney as their partner. Disney and New Balance are teaming up for a multi-year strategic alliance today that includes exclusive Mickey & Minnie themed running shoes, running-specific initiatives, and co-branding opportunities. Does that mean that Mickey, Minnie, Goofy will be wearing New Balance shoes from now on? Well, maybe not to that extend that the characters inside the parks will be showcasing the branding, but I am sure they will don the NB on Disney merchandises.

It is somewhat an alliance made in heaven, New Balance has recently seen a huge surge with their Made In U.S.A and Made In England footwear, and Disney is of course an ALL AMERICAN company with adoring fans all over the world, so to forged an alliance with New Balance’s innovative, design-forward athletic footwear for the leading vacation destination in the world, is a clever match.

New Balance also becomes the title sponsor of the track & field facility at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, home of the annual Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic and Disney’s Track & Field Spring Training for high school and collegiate teams. Future initiatives include the creation of maps for the running trails at Walt Disney World Resort and fitness programs for Disney resort guests interested in pursuing healthy options.

To commemorate this alliance, New Balance created a men’s and women’s limited edition runDisney 860v3 running shoe that captures the spirit of two favorite Disney characters – Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. The limited edition runDisney 860v3 will be available for purchase at the 2013 Walt Disney World Marathon Health & Fitness Expo from January 10-12, future runDisney Health & Fitness Expos, special events created jointly by New Balance and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts as well as branded pop-up shops located at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
