Nike Air Penny V ‘Miami Hurricanes' or "Miami Dolphins" ?

At this point the swoosh is just searching for all kinds of ways to make that money. Penny Hardaway is one of my fave player growing up. His line of signature shoes with Nike were always among the most popular kicks out there. But as Penny started to decline because of injury, usually their signature shoe would stop completely i.e Vince Carter, but Penny's older model shoes are more popular than ever and Nike decided to honor that heritage by releasing his FIFTH signature shoes this holiday season with the Florida theme. One is the Orlando Magic colorways and the other, these ‘Miami Hurricanes' or "Miami Dolphins" colorways. It's unheard of that someone who is no longer active as an NBA player and yet still getting the treatment. Very sweet!

Robert Griffin III’s “Go Catch Your Dream” adidas Socks - SOLD OUT

I blame Nike for this craze over basketball socks. At the time when other companies are selling 3 pack socks for $10, Nike sets out a supposedly superior socks with cushioned for $12. Outfitted the NCAA kids, made other juvenile kids wanted them and gave resellers more fuel to make that money. I mean, it was so ridiculously LIMITED (Nike did not anticipate the popularity) that $12 socks goes for $150 in the secondary market. Moms were willing to cough up big money so their sons/daughters can wear those ELITE socks at their AAU tournament so they would look as cool as the NCAA kids.

As always, adidas is a step behind in everything, actually they are 2 years behind in coming out with their own version of the ELITE socks. But the adidas version though started off with the NBA All-Star socks, continued to their Baylor neon socks and now as soon as the Washington Redskins announced they will pick Robert Griffin III with the second pick the 2012 NFL Draft, the 3-Stripes made up a pair of burgundy and gold Team Speed Crew socks with RGIII's motto “Go Catch Your Dream” that he wore on draft night. Of course like everything in the U.S these days, the socks went on sales yesterday and it was quickly snapped up by resellers. So “Go Catch Your Dream” resellers!

Nike LeBron 9 Mr "3 MVPs in 4 years" - BOW DOWN!

Designed for elite performance and crafted with style, the LeBron 9 MVP features striking Miami team colors. Gradient fades from red to black to comprise the upper with pops of yellow, while details including an MVP logo on the heel and trophies printed on the sockliner mark the award. This special LeBron 9 MVP shoe was made specifically for James, but a very limited amount will be brought to market in June. Via Nike Basketball.

Nike LunarEclipse+ 3 - Already? Guees the TWO was a FAIL!

If you have a pair of the Nike LunarEclipse+2 then you know that it's not up to par with its predecessor the Nike LunarEclipse+. The fit of the 2 is tighter on the mid-foot with the introductions of the dynamic fit, but the lacing system seems awkwardly weird and not as smooth & subtle as the first offering. The fact that it took Nike a full year & a half AFTER the 1st one to release the second version was puzzling enough, now the third version is ready to be rolled out in a matter of weeks. Right off the bat. the third one seems to feature a better fit similar to the first, but with less room on the toebox. Dynamic support is back, along with the floating heel clip and the extra foam padding on the forefoot. This is after all is the top of the line Lunar offering from Nike. Gone is the dynamic fit they introduced in the previous model and now they implement an exposed flywire just like in their team basketball shoes, the Nike Lunar Hyperdunk. More info to come as the shoe drop. Images via zzazin

Hello Kitty x Vans Spring/Summer 2012 Collection

Collaborations with iconic brand or logo seems to be the new things for many footwear company. It  allows them to open up a new market and help sales in this slumping economy. Vans has been doing many collaborations with local boutiques, artist and skaters, but this I believe would be the first collaboration with a MEGA ICONIC brand in Hello Kitty & Sanrio. Most of the offerings that you can peek below are targeted towards kids, girls but the Sk8 Hi with the bow looks promising enough that I am willing to bet that celebs will probably get them, if not, then the so-called e-sneaker-celebs aka the hypebeast will rock em.Via Nitrolicious

NIKE AND TOM SACHS PRESENT TOM SACHS: NIKECRAFT

When you go to the supermarket or your local grocer, you'll bound to stumble upon certain products marked as ARTISAN, such as bread, butter, lettuces and I recently heard on TV, Dunkin Donuts just introduced their version of an artisan BAGEL. Selling bagels in a donut shop? Go figure! Well now Nike introduces their version of an ARTISAN shoes in their NikeCraft, artisanal capsule collection. See below for their official press release:

Born from the dynamic between Tom Sachs' D.I.Y. aesthetic and the wide reaching Nike brand, comes an artisanal capsule collection, NIKECraft.

Anyone familiar with Tom Sachs scrappy make-it-yourself sculpture (some call it bricolage) might find the idea of him collaborating with the biggest sporting goods brand on the planet, in the universe, an unlikely partnership. What he, as an artist, considers a large edition size, Nike runs off in prototypes testing iterations of a new sneaker. And yet born from the dynamic between Tom's D.I.Y. aesthetic and the wide reaching Nike brand, comes an artisanal capsule collection, NIKECraft.

Launched on the eve of Tom’s SPACE PROGRAM: Mars, this joint venture between Tom and the Nike design team fuses, in several significant ways, the design sensibility Sachs brings to space travel.

Astronauts must be as fit as an elite athlete to even withstand the rigors of exiting the earth’s atmosphere. Their daily tasks require a substantial effort and endurance. Equally, their equipment must be up to the task of performing under the most unforgiving conditions.

The journey itself would end up inspiring the Tom Sachs: NIKECraft collection - The Mars Yard Shoe, the Trench, The Marsfly Jacket, and the Lightweight Tote. Nike design and Sachs applied materials that have never been used in sportswear, taken from automotive air bags, mainsails for boats and the space suit itself. Each piece is packed with functionality that would prove useful in the voyage through space. Zipper pulls that double as storage containers, paracord that can be fashioned as a tourniquet and embellishments like the periodic table of elements screened on the inside of a jacket - they all merge visual interest with purpose.

Only fitting that Sneaker Freaker Issue 24 features Kobe's kicks

What The Hell? Are these real or they some fugazi type $#!t? Well according to several folks, these Nike Zoom Kobe VII is the real deal and are called the "What The Kobe?" The inspiration is basically just a plethora of colors and designs combined together like they did once before with the "What The Dunk SB" but those were stoopid limited, these I hope will be kinder to the wallet and easily attainable by those that really wants them. (LIKE YOURS TRULY)
