THE LOOK OF SPORT: JODIE WILLIAMS The British sprinter has surpassed all expectations, racking up numerous victories on the track. And at 17, she’s just getting started.

Approaching a running career as a marathon, not a sprint, is an unexpected tactic for a sprinter like Britain’s Jodie Williams. But Jodie has excelled precisely by bowing to no one’s expectations but her own. As a result, she’s surpassed everyone’s expectations, and the 17-year-old nicknamed “Moneylegs” is just warming up.  A rare prodigy in UK track and field, she’s secured multiple national and European championships in the 100 and 200 meters, as well as three first-place finishes in international competition, two in the 100 meters and one in the 200 meters. This past year, she also made a strong debut in the senior circuit.

Nike Zoom Kobe 7 System "Lakers home" colorways

The Lakers colorways is coming sooner than expected for the Nike Kobe 7 than it was with the Nike Zoom Kobe 6. Avid Kobe fan had to wait until the autumn season for a look of a Lakers Kobe 6 last year. This year, it seems that they are bringing the Lakers CW earlier. I guess they are just following a pattern similar to the Zoom Kobe V 2 years ago when they introduced the Lakers Home colorway of that shoe closer to March or April to get fans ready for the playoffs push. The upper is mostly white, the usual trend with Lakers home "Sunday-Whites" with concord-purple inner sleeves and swoosh and del-sol yellow out-sole. Images via xiekeduo.com

adidas adizero Rose 2.5 "St Patrick's Day" Green

It has become a tradition recently with the CHICAGO BULLS to wear green during that week of St. Patrick's day and so adidas basketball has been coming out with green version of Derrick Rose's signature kicks for that one game. For those outside of Chicago, the BULLS are doing the green jersey night to celebrate St. Patricks day and because there is a huge Irish American population in Chicago, possible the biggest one outside of Boston. I can't recall the BULLS ever doing this back when MJ was winning championships in the 90s, dunno what it would be like to have MJ rocked a pair of GREEN AIR JORDAN, awkward!

THE LOOK OF SPORT: LERYN FRANCO Take passion, courage and tenacity , layer on looks and charm, and you get two-time Paraguay Olympic Team javelin thrower and model Leryn Franco.

Sauntering into the lobby of her New York hotel, wearing silver sequined hot pants and a white tank top, accessorized with crystal rosary beads and aviator sunglasses, Leryn Franco commands attention—even in Manhattan’s too-cool-to-breathe meatpacking district. That her sidekick for the day is a fellow beauty queen, a blonde to Leryn’s brunette who also happens to be her best friend, doesn’t hurt. After hosting a renowned Paraguayan television program together last year, the friends pretty much turn heads wherever they go.

Television hosting is just one of Leryn’s off-track jobs. She also models for international and domestic advertising campaigns and magazines. These accomplishments begin to illuminate the symbiotic relationship between Leryn and her sport. The javelin throw served as her first public forum, and she in turn raises the profile of the often-overlooked event.

THE LOOK OF SPORT: HOPE SOLO Hope’s tenacity, drive and fighting spirit have made her the best female goalkeeper the sport has ever seen.

It’s true. Hope Solo has a chip on her shoulder. In fact, she has many: there’s her difficult childhood and then there’s the brouhaha that erupted in 2007 after she publically criticized one of her coaches. More generally, there are the numerous double standards she faces as a woman athlete. iMost recently she took shots from critics who questioned her decision to participate in a televised dancing competition -- no matter that when a national football star appeared in the same contest, he was praised for being the ultimate athlete. Then there are the physical chips from years of competitive play, leading to major shoulder surgery that would have ended the careers of lesser competitors. But Hope is a fighter. These chips are merely motivation. They are what have made her not just the best female goalkeeper in the world but the best female goalkeeper the sport has ever seen.

THE LOOK OF SPORT: LAURA ENEVER She’s inspiring, adventurous, yet completely accessible. The 19-year-old surfer from Australia is all about making the most out of life.

Laura Enever embodies the innocence of her age, with the attitude of a free-spirited old soul. Growing up in Australia, Laura initially started off as a dedicated gymnast (her mother taught), but she fell in love with surfing at age 9. She is someone who, at only 19, has already lived a full life of travel, excitement, and challenge through competitive surfing, and energetically forges ahead with open arms -- welcoming everything this life brings and all that is to come. Surfing is her passion, but above all, it's her ticket to life. Experience is her driving force.
